There is no treatment for tinnitus other then buying a noise gadget to use in his bedroom at night to support mask the tinnitus noise. He does want to get his hearing checked by an audiologist though to be sure it hasn't cause any hearing loss yet.
Did you chitchat to a doctor abour this??
Does your father use a lot of aspirin? That will mete out ringing in the ears.

The best thing for your father to do is to see a specialist.
William Shatner (Captain Kirk) said he developed Tinnitus when an FX explosion went off too close to him. Tinnitus can be cause by many things, some benign, some not so benign, some unknown. Some people freshly "develop tinnitus. It can also be caused by TemporoMandibular Joint syndrome (look up "TMJ"), high blood pressure and nearly fifty other causes. If it is bothersome, start with your (his) broad practioner to get to a specialist. But the process of elimination can lug a while. TMJ is usually treated by a dentist, High blood pressure by a cardiologist, and general ear problems by an ENT specialist. Start hunting, surf the web and virtuous luck.
I have heard that Colloidal Silver works. Go on strip & check it out, your best bet is to make it at home as needed, because it loses it's potency rather summarily, so the already made stuff is just a waste of money.
