EARS PROBLEMS : WILL I TURN DEAF. Plz diseases wedge?
I have had tinnitus which is ringing surrounded by ears since am eleven, and am okay with it and i got used to it. But when am frail will i be one of those people who cant hear a thing, especialy that i wear specs so i dont want it to be blindness and deafness. Plz if you really know reply. Am still a teen

Tinnitus is associated with hearing loss... and if you've have it since you were 11, it's probably not going to get worse until you're within your 60s. I'd suggest you go get evaluated for audible range loss at an Audiology office. You may have a mild audible range loss that you don't even know about. It's probably something you were born next to or developed in your childhood, and it may run in your loved ones. Genetic hearing losses in children tend to be pretty stable until audible range loss due to "age" kicks in subsequent in life.
The tinnitus isn't going to progress away... at least not with technology this far. You purely have to learn not to habituate to it and it should give the impression of being like it's not there unless you're listen for it.
